Several centuries before the visit of the most famous outlaws to the north-west of the West, Javier Veiga and Xosé A. Touriñán had already stood at the foot of the Tower of Hercules, on Riazor beach, and even planned visits to the city by some of the great emperors.
Coruña Vadis is already circulating through WhatsApp groups and shared posts on the social media accounts of hundreds of people from A Coruña. It is the City Council’s new proposal to showcase the city’s many virtues to the world — a place home to the oldest working lighthouse in the world, the Tower of Hercules, in whose construction the slave Gaius — played by Xosé A. Touriñán — took part.
Published on the municipal networks on Friday night, the short film has already gathered tens of thousands of views. Produced by Medio Limón, the company led by Javier Veiga — who also directs the piece — in collaboration with Undodez, it brought together a crew of more than thirty professionals, mostly from Galicia.
Carlos Pérez Gascó is the director of photography, Alfred Tapscott composed the original music, Isabel Vila created the graphic design, Andrea Pozo handled art direction, and Laura Canto served as production director. The piece also features actress Lucía Veiga as voice-over narrator and was filmed in the city in the first weeks of January.
