Pontevedra hosted this Thursday morning the announcement of the finalists for the 23rd Mestre Mateo Awards, which will take place in Lalín on 15 March. Susana Sampedro and David Machado were in charge of revealing the productions and professionals competing in this edition of the awards organised by the Galician Audiovisual Academy.

The three Undodez productions have received a total of five nominations. Bibopalula, the first musical animated series in Galician, is nominated for Best Television Series. It is the first time in 18 years that an animated series has been a finalist in this category, marking a new milestone in the short but successful trajectory of the series directed by Laura Mahía, which will compete against Rapa, Clanes and El circo de los muchachos.

The musical exploration project Recollendo Músicas, directed by Saúl Rivas and Borja Casal, is a finalist for both Best Programme and Best Direction — Adolfo Fernández. It will compete with the documentary programme Nosoutras, also nominated in the categories of Best Programme and Best Direction — Jairo Iglesias.

In addition, Lucía Veiga is nominated for Best Leading Actress for her role in Na Gloria, a joint project by Undodez and Tex45.

Undodez production director and producer Javi Lopa is also a finalist for Best Production Direction for his work on + Cuñados, alongside Ana Míguez.
