The animated series Bibopalula, produced by Undodez and Televisión de Galicia, was recognised in Pontevedra with the Deleite Award for language promotion, as part of the 23rd edition of the Mestre Mateo Awards. These awards, promoted by the Galician Audiovisual Academy in the weeks leading up to the main gala, highlight productions committed to values such as sustainability and the promotion of the Galician language.

The jury recognised the series created by Andrés Mahía “for offering a new generation of children the opportunity to enjoy an animated series made in our language”, while also highlighting the impact of the project beyond audiovisual content “through a wide range of complementary materials that point towards a more optimistic future scenario for the Galician language”.

Laura Mahía, director of the series, collected the award at an event held at the headquarters of the Provincial Council of Pontevedra, where she stressed the importance of continuing to produce content that allows children to grow up in their own language.

Other Undodez finalist projects present at the event

The gathering of Mestre Mateo finalists brought together more than 150 audiovisual professionals at the Provincial Palace of Pontevedra, including teams from Undodez’s nominated works: Saúl Rivas and Borja Casal, directors of Recollendo Músicas, and Amara Fontao, director of Nosoutras (both nominated for Best Programme); editor Adolfo Fernández — nominated for Best Editing for Recollendo Músicas; and actress Lucía Veiga, nominated for Best Leading Actress for Na Gloria. Also present were Undodez producers Javi Lopa — nominated alongside Ana Míguez for Best Production Direction for +Cuñados — and Álvaro Pérez Becerra, who is also president of the Galician Audiovisual Academy.
