Axencia Galega das Industrias Culturais (Agadic) took part in the European Film Market in Berlin, the audiovisual market held alongside the Berlinale, where it presented the new Films from Galicia 2024 catalogue, featuring 75 Galician titles for cinema and television.
Films from Galicia is the brand created by the Xunta de Galicia, within its audiovisual internationalisation programme, to support the international promotion of Galician film and television production and strengthen its presence in major industry markets, both within Spain and especially abroad. Within this catalogue—organised into fiction features, documentaries, animation, and television—Bibopalula appears as a new Undodez production for early-years audiences, currently in advanced production.
Bibopalula is a musical animated series designed for repeated viewing by young first-time audiences. It consists of five-minute stories featuring a group of singing birds whose band is at the heart of each episode, with nature—and its cycles—playing a central role. Starring Pegui the magpie, Merli the blackbird, Robin the robin, and Carpin the woodpecker, the series aims to bring children closer to the natural world around them through their first audiovisual experiences.
Directed by Laura Mahía, the series will consist of 55 five-minute episodes in which music and natural cycles are the main themes. Iria Lamas, Marta Lado, Laura Mahía, Marita Martínez, and Melania Cruz provide the voices for the main characters. The series, supported by Agadic and co-produced with Televisión de Galicia, is expected to be released in the second half of 2024.
