‘Nena’, ‘Bechos’, ‘Fai tempo’ and ‘Amigos hasta la muerte’ shortlisted at the Mestre Mateo Awards

The Galician Audiovisual Academy Awards have announced the productions and professionals nominated for the XXII edition of the Mestre Mateo Awards.

Actors Lucía Veiga and Denís Gómez were in charge of announcing the nominees for the XXII edition of the Mestre Mateo Awards. In total, 173 productions were competing across 25 categories in the Galician audiovisual awards. Undodez is participating this year with four productions, all of which have been shortlisted in four different categories.

Nena is nominated for Best Short Film. The short directed by Xosé A. Touriñán and Jairo Iglesias, and starring Antía Touriñán, Carlos Blanco, David Perdomo and Touriñán himself, competes against Antes de que se poña o sol, O coidado, O neno sardiña and Ulises.

In the Best Music Video category we find Fai tempo, the video for The Rapants directed by Anxo Beiro as a preview of the album O corasón como un after. It competes with A pequena morte by Caamaño & Ameixeiras, Oliveira dos cen anos by C. Tangana and Ruando Crónicas d’Ardén-cap 2 by Mondra.

Our first children’s animation production, Bechos, is nominated for Best Web Series. This Televisión de Galicia production features designs by Laura Mahía and voices by Touriñán, Laura Canto, Patricia Castrillón, Marita Martínez and Laura Mahía. The other nominees in this category are A arte de ser mal pai, Nosoutras, as mulleres da revista Nós and Terapia de.

Finally, Javi Lopa is nominated for Best Production Direction for his work on Amigos hasta la muerte, a feature film co-produced with MedioLimón and Onírica which, after its theatrical run across Spain, is now available on Prime Video. The other nominees are Ana Míguez for Rapa, José Alberto Fuentes for O Corno and Nati Juncal for Matria.
