Nosoutras, a series produced by Undodez for Televisión de Galicia, premiered this Wednesday on agalega.gal, the new CRTVG digital audiovisual content platform. The project revisits, through humour, curiosity and admiration, the women of our culture who have been forgotten throughout history. Which Galician surrealist painter was admired by Warhol? Who came up with the idea of creating Sargadelos porcelain jewellery? Who gave instructions to a severely visually impaired Castelao so he could draw? These are some of the questions the series seeks to answer.
To do so, actress Isabel Garrido (A desorde que deixas, Acacias 38 and Élite) brings to life figures ranging from Maruja Mallo to María Miramontes and Finita Gay, among others, whom she both presents and portrays in each episode. These women themselves guide us through their lives and works, revealing the place they hold in history.
All ten episodes are now available on the platform’s website and mobile app, downloadable from Google Play and the App Store. Throughout February, the service will also become natively available on smart TVs and via Fire TV devices.
The series was selected in CRTVG’s 2022 digital project call and now forms part of a catalogue of more than 1,400 pieces, many of them award-winning and recognised within the audiovisual sector. Nosoutras is directed by Amara Fontao and Andrés Mahía, with Jairo Iglesias as director of photography and Pedro Tizón as cinematographer. The rest of the production team, which can be consulted along with further information on the series website, includes many of the professionals who regularly work with Undodez, reflecting the company’s commitment to producing Galician-language content made by local professionals for audiences in the country.
