Still haven’t met Pipo?

The series Pipo is one of the finalists at the 24th Mestre Mateo Awards in the Best Web Series category, a recognition that highlights the work behind an animated proposal designed for children and family audiences.

Created by Laura Mahía and Andrés Mahía, Pipo tells the story of Berta and a small extraterrestrial who suddenly enters her everyday life, turning the ordinary into a space for discovery, humour and learning. Produced by Undodez for Televisión de Galicia, the series is designed with a language that is accessible to young audiences, combining imagination, educational values and a carefully crafted visual and sound design.

Its premiere took place in August 2025 as part of the Castelo Conta festival in Castelo (Culleredo), during the Xente Miúda programme. Several episodes were screened there for a children’s audience in an event attended by the creators and representatives of TVG, offering an initial direct encounter with the young viewers the series is aimed at.

Double presence in the Best Web Series category

At the 24th Mestre Mateo Awards, Undodez has a double presence in the Best Web Series category thanks to Pipo and Bechos, two animated projects that, through different languages and universes, share a clear commitment to Galician-language content and audiovisual creation aimed at early childhood.

The category is completed by Contando los días and Alucinema, in a selection that reflects the current diversity and vitality of web series production in the country.

Animation in Galician in a period of growth

The nomination of Pipo is part of a particularly dynamic moment for Galician audiovisual production and animation in particular, with a growing number of projects aimed at children that contribute to linguistic normalisation and the creation of local audiovisual references from an early age.

The first ten episodes are available on xabarin.gal, a first season designed for children aged 5 to 8, full of playful mischief and adventures.
