There was great anticipation to hear the opinion of such a demanding audience as children under six, and the response was positive. The Culturgal auditorium hosted the public presentation of Bibopalula this Sunday, the first musical animated series in Galician, attended by around 300 families.
The presentation was led by Xosé A. Touriñán, who, in addition to being executive producer, also voices the Postman Pigeon, one of the recurring characters in the series. Touriñán highlighted the satisfaction of the whole production team in bringing forward a project so necessary at a time when children need more than ever content in their own language, made locally and designed with them in mind.
The Minister of Culture, Language and Youth also attended the premiere, highlighting the “boldness of the series” and the “commitment of the administration” to a project that aims to become a benchmark in audiovisual entertainment for young audiences, also congratulating the team on the quality of the production.
The Head of AGalega.gal and Xabarin.gal, María Sabucedo Santos, encouraged everyone to download the Xabarín apps, where a wide range of Galician-language content for different age groups is available. She also announced the next 35 episodes that will complete this first season in the coming weeks.

During the 17th edition of Culturgal, Bibopalula had its own stand to introduce its characters and songs to parents and children alike. In the coming days, a YouTube channel will be launched featuring the series’ songs so audiences can sing and dance along with the Forest Band’s music.
The episodes have been available online since Friday 27 via Xabarin.gal and the Xabarín apps for iOS, Android and smart TVs.
