Alana has just released Vilardevós, a muiñeira reinterpreted in the group’s own style, based on a collection of songs gathered from the women of Terroso, in Vilardevós. Filmed in A Coruña on 8 February, the shoot brought together a large artistic and technical team to create a music video that conveys celebration, noise and shared joy, reinforced by the presence of PAN.SEN.FRON.

The song originates from this oral collection, a memory rooted in a clear atmosphere of celebration. That feeling became the conceptual starting point for the music video: a gathering among friends, a meeting space where music and community act as emotional driving forces. Within this context, the participation of PAN.SEN.FRON felt natural, as the A Coruña-based collective has spent years working on the recovery and dissemination of traditional Galician music through voice and percussion, especially the pandeireta.

Musically, Vilardevós is a muiñeira reinterpreted through Alana’s distinctive sonic language, combining traditional roots with electronic bases and pop influences. This fusion is part of the DNA of the project — formed by Antía Vázquez, Pablo Castro and Eloy Vidal — which since its creation has worked with collected traditional repertoire to transform it into a contemporary musical experience without losing its identity.

The music video reinforces this same idea visually: tradition and the present coexist in a staging built around colour, movement and a sense of collectivity. The art direction and styling create a dynamic and vibrant visual universe, while dance and the presence of performers help transmit the atmosphere of shared celebration that inspired the project.

The piece was created by a technical team including Einibó as director, Xoán Fórneas as assistant director, Sara Temes and Adolfo Fernández as directors of photography, Noel Iglesias as art director and Laura Canto as production director, alongside Undodez’s regular production team and other collaborators. The project also received support from the Xunta de Galicia through the Galician Agency for Cultural Industries (AGADIC).

With Vilardevós, Alana continues to expand its artistic proposal, consolidating itself as one of the voices redefining the relationship between traditional music and contemporary creation in Galicia. The music video thus becomes another piece in a trajectory that continues to explore how inherited melodies can engage with the present and reach new audiences.
