Deslocalizando Xeosónica: a sound journey from the sea to the towns is a travelling installation that aims to bring sound creation and reflection on the noise that surrounds us to places that are not usually associated with these kinds of artistic experiences. It also seeks to encourage public reflection on the constant presence of noise in our lives and environments, presented through cutting-edge digital creation.
This initiative is another piece of the transmedia project Xeosónica, a work that explores sound from both artistic and educational perspectives. Conceived as a multimedia puzzle made up of multiple elements, it offers soundscapes, interviews with experts, informative graphics, artistic interventions and sound creations. Through this experimental approach, noise is presented as a destabilising force in life, questioning current ways of living and beginning a journey from nature to humanity.
Deslocalizando Xeosónica takes artistic experiences outside their usual context through a travelling installation featuring binaural sound and projections inside a shipping container. The installation will tour towns across the province of A Coruña, reimagining squares, streets and even small harbours far removed from the overwhelming noise of factories and heavy transport routes.
Now, this installation begins its journey from the sea to the towns, transforming squares in the inland areas of the province of A Coruña into small open-air art centres. The Deslocalizando Xeosónica shipping container begins its tour this Thursday, 23 December, in Carral, where it will be located at Campo da Feira. It will then continue its route across the province:
- Carral · Campo da Feira · 23–24 November
- Ordes · Alameda de Ordes · 25–26 November
- Zas · Praza Jorge Mira · 27–28 November
- Negreira · Praza do Concello · 29–30 November
- Carballo · Praza do Concello · 1–2 December
- Cerceda · Campo da Feira · 4–5 December
Admission to the immersive Xeosónica experience is free, with opening hours from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
This activity is supported by the Provincial Council of A Coruña through its grant programme for singular projects of special cultural interest.
