Javier Veiga makes his directional debut with this feature film based on the stage play of the same name, which he also wrote. Starring Javier himself, Marta Hazas and Mauricio Ochmann, the film tells the story of María, Nacho and Suso, lifelong friends who, now in their forties, have shared a world of experiences. Some of these moments brought them closer, while others drove them apart. Suddenly, life forces them to face the impending death of one of their own due to a terminal illness. But first, there are many loose ends to tie up: plans, promises, laughter, reconciliations, apologies, memories, more laughter, tears, still more laughter, pending matters and perhaps a secret or two that it might finally be time to share.
The film also features Luna Gallego, Nacho Nuno, and Óscar Allo, who portray María, Nacho and Suso as twenty-year-olds. It also includes cameos from faces well-known to the public, such as Xosé A. Touriñán, David Amor, Ledicia Sola, Mela Casal, Fele Martínez, and musician Xoel López.
‘Friends ‘till death’ produced by Undodez and Medio Limón, is supported by the Xunta de Galicia through the grant program for attracting film shoots, part of the Creative Industry Audiovisual Hub program managed by the Galician Agency for Cultural Industries (AGADIC) and funded by the European Union’s ERDF (European Regional Development Fund).
